The first annual Josh Heupel #14 Foundation Celebrity Golf Tournament is scheduled for Thursday, July 16, 2009. The tournament will be held at Emerald Falls Golf Club.

Summit Financial Group and 97.1 FM The Sports Animal are the presenting sponsors of the golf tournament. The purpose of the tournament is to raise funds for The #14 Foundation’s Performance Improvement Training (PIT) Camp.
 
The 2009 Performance Improvement Training (PIT) Camp put on by the Day of Champions with The #14 Foundation will be held July 13,14 and 15 of this year at Sand Springs High School in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. The PIT Camp targets five areas impacting high-risk, underprivileged youth:  health, fitness, academic achievement, life choices, leadership and skill enhancement.
 
David Stephens, Stephens Media Group, said “The Sports Animal will broadcast live from the PIT camp July 13th through 15th and then host a celebrity golf tournament on July 16th. The public is invited to register to play during a morning round at Emerald Falls Golf Club. Proceeds from the celebrity golf tournament will be donated to The #14 Foundation.”
 
Summit Financial Group President, Todd Rolland added, “I have a special place in my heart to help underprivileged kids. The Heupel family has that same heart, so I got involved with them over a year ago and offered my support. The Sports Animal partnered with us to be the voice to the community about this excellent foundation. I know many kids’ lives will be changed.”
 
The young boys and girls who attend the camp are challenged to raise the bar in the key areas of their lives. The athletes, coaches, teachers and volunteers set examples of respect and putting others first by supporting one another. The children are taught the four principles of leadership, among other ‘life’ lessons, and focus on developing a well-rounded sense of self. The experience is far beyond a camp geared toward just athletic skill enhancement, it provides one-on-one mentoring and coaching in both athletics and academics. The PIT Camp is monumental in developing life skills that will be valuable to them throughout their lives.
 
The PIT Camp targets underprivileged boys and girls ages 10-16 providing them the opportunity to attend a football or softball camp.
